February Scripture Writing

If you were to look closely, you'd see a very distinct correlation between my Scripture Writing topics and what was going on in my heart during those particular months. For October, I chose the Authority of Scripture because I, personally, needed those daily reminders. For November, I wanted to be more mindful of the blessings in my life chose verses about thanks-giving. In December, the expectancy of Advent was more powerful for me this year than ever before, and my January verses were chosen because I felt the need to dig deeper into WHO Jesus was. This month was no different. Though love seems like the safe and easy choice, the truth is that I (again, personally), needed some reassurance as to how deep the Savior's love is for me. As people who are at our core, sinners, unfortunately we will either be disappointed by others, or we'll be the ones who disappoint. Jesus, on the other hand, is innately good. He will never disappoint, let down, fail, hurt or stop loving you.

Never.

Ever.

And these verses, these TRUTHS, are the sweet whispers that my heart needed to hear. I hope they do the same for you.

No matter what you have done, or who you have hurt. No matter how many mistakes are stacked up against you, or how low you think you are at this moment in time. No matter how many people have made you feel less-than or not good enough...there is One who loves you so much that while you were down in that pit with the grit and grime, shame and scars, tears and heartbreak, He laid down His life to show you just how much you mean to Him. He CHOSE that. For you. And for me. And as many times as you turn your back, or run away, or close that door, or cry out in anger at Him, He will be there one more. He's pursued you from the moment you took your first breath, and He pursues you still. In your mess. Just. As. You. Are.

We are called to love because He first loved us. And if you're needing a little reminder this month (like I was) about just how much...well, I pray that these verses bless you as much as they have blessed me.

You are loved always and forever by the God of all creation. Rest in that this month, my friends.
