Halloween/Reformation Day Activities

Our family has been having the BEST time getting ready for Halloween and Reformation Day! We don't do spooky over here, but that doesn't prevent us from having fun with crafts and creating some really delicious treats! Below are some of the best sites I found for all ages...whether you celebrate Halloween, Reformation Day or BOTH (like us!), I hope you find something that you and your kids can enjoy together.

Reformation Day:

Triumphant Learning has some fantastic activities for the whole family! AND, just in case you don't know what Reformation Day is really all about, she also provides a TON of information about why we celebrate it. She includes books and movie recommendation in addition to the activities, and provides several links to other websites as well!

Intoxicated on Life has some FREE printables as well as a few different Reformation Day Party Ideas in case you're looking for an alternative to Halloween Parties for your family. She gives a brief description of the Protestant Reformation, and provides links to other bloggers as well!

Reformed Mama is another great resource for books, activities, party ideas and more! She gives some really in-depth reviews of a few books, and provides verses that give insight into the WHY of Reformation as well. There are quizzes, a coloring page, notebooking pages, and crafts.

Halloween:

Kara Carrero has some really good ideas for easy, non-scary Halloween crafts for toddlers. Things like painting pumpkins, making a leaf collage, and Halloween garland. If you have young kiddos, you'll love her ideas!

Artsy Mama provides 25 not-so-scary Halloween Crafts as well...this time for ALL ages. Most of her stuff is linked to other sites, which IMO is GREAT because there is always more to choose from! She features some cotton-ball ghosts, pipe-cleaner spiders and gooey monster slime. Perfect for your older kids!

Crafty Morning has the CUTEST little Sucker Spider Treats featured on her blog, and I just HAD to mention them. If you haven't decided on which candy to give out this year, or if you're just not handing out candy (thanks COVID!), this might be a fun thing to do with just immediate family and friends!

And finally, Being EcoMOMical has some fantastic ideas for Halloween treats. I have a friend who is the BEST party-thrower I've ever met. Seriously. I'm always amazed at the fun treats she comes up with when she throws her shin-digs (do people still use that word?!)....and these treats remind me so much of her. Super cute, some easy and some a little bit harder, but ALL really fun and not-so-spooky!
